Purple Foundation returns to Dallas Pride Weekend with a lineup that will be sure to spark your soul and set your feet dancing. Pride is a time to come together in solidarity and honor all our unique differences, and we have no doubt you’ll want to celebrate with us—all while benefiting the local Dallas community.
Dallas in September can be known for searing temperatures, so on Saturday, September 16, 2 pm – 8 pm, come cool down with us and SHINE at SISU Uptown Lounge, a favorite fixture among our attendees that features a gorgeous saltwater pool, deluxe cabanas. DJ Benson Wilder (Dallas) will keep crowds entertained with his distinctive styles of house and tribal that feature melodic riffs with rich vocals. Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any hotter, Serving Ovahness (NYC) will take over the tables and close the party down with his brand of house, techno, and progressive music.
DJ Serving Ovahness (NYC)
Resident DJ at ‘BPM Nightclub’ (formally XL NYC) & Reflex (Los Angeles). Recently featured at FFF Paradise Garage (Tel-Aviv), Cielo (NYC), NYC Pride, Chicago Pride, Toronto Pride, Xion (Atlanta, GA), Sound Factory (San Francisco, CA), & The World (Vancouver, Canada).
International Dj/Producer, Serving Ovahness, is one of the newest and fastest growing names in today’s DJ club scene. It is through a combination of hard work, perseverance, skill and his study of major house music DJs that has helped him take on this new endeavor of creating music. Brian is determined in creating a new chapter in music that focuses on bringing the beats and making his listeners dance for hours on end. Hailing from the New York City, Brian came of age during New York City’s golden age of clubbing in the ‘90s. “My first mega club was Twilo in 2000,” Brian recalls. “It was one of biggest clubs in New York City at that time. I was speechless watching Junior Vasquez create magic on that dancefloor while taking his listeners on a musical journey every step of the way.” “I want my music to be like a staircase where the sound progresses and elevates. The next track always better and bigger than the previous one, to keep everyone on the dance floor for hours. I am very creative person when mixing live; I play with a lot of effects, loops, acapellas, and mash-ups. I enjoy making my own exclusive mash-ups, and look forward to sharing a lot of my unreleased material in the coming year.” Brian constantly works on creating and reinventing music, including his monthly soundcloud episodes that are quickly climbing the ranks of listeners in the club scene. Serving Ovahness is ready to deliver a driving progressive tribal house sound that will take you on a journey and keep you dancing all night long.
DJ Benson Wilder (Dallas)
DJ Benson Wilder is no stranger to the dance floor or the DJ booth. His eclectic, energetic sound blends the worlds of circuit, club and house music, delivering pulsating rhythms, soaring melodic vocals, and flat out dirty beats designed to inspire and electrify his audience.
Benson Wilder has been making music since 2000 when he started distributing podcasts regularly through online DJ communities. He’s played events and parties for groups like AGLIFF, HRC, Octopus Club, Purple Foundation, Splash Days, and Ted Baker.
In 2006, Benson started his Sunday residency, Church, at Rain on 4th in Austin, TX. He headlined Austin’s infamous Big Gay Brunch and made a name for himself with both gay and straight audiences while rocking Terrace59’s monthly rooftop party. Benson made his circuit debut headlining Splash Day’s Get Wet Party and his first Purple appearance during 2014’s Purple Party Weekend, opening for DJ Grind at Rise. Since then he’s proudly joined Purple Foundation as a committee member.
Through the years Benson Wilder has developed a true love for the amazing people that fill dance floors and the talented DJs that fuel them. Those are the people that inspire him and keep him motivated to share his passion on the decks or through his Podcast, Reclaimed Peak.
